Matthew Biggs
Vice President
Matthew Biggs is a Vice President on BroadOak's growth capital investing team where he is driving data-driven decision making in the investment process. Prior to joining BroadOak in 2026, Matt worked at Manus Biosynthesis as a computational biologist supporting AI-guided protein design, metabolic pathway optimization, and experimental workflows. He found his way to Manus via mergers of Inscripta and Sestina Bio. Prior to these synthetic biology roles, he was a genomics data scientist supporting project teams and managing cloud-based bioinformatics and machine learning pipelines at AgBiome, a crop protection company in North Carolina. He loves learning from biologists and founders doing great things for the world. He is especially passionate about leveraging company culture to improve business outcomes for all stakeholders.
Matt earned a PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Virginia, and a B.S. in Bioinformatics from Brigham Young University. He is nearing the finish line of his Executive MBA at Duke's Fuqua School of Business.
