BroadOak Launches BioTools Venture Fund in Collaboration with DeciBio

October 2022

BroadOak Capital Partners launched the BroadOak BioTools Venture Fund in October 2022 in collaboration with DeciBio, a strategy consulting and market intelligence firm serving clients across the precision medicine ecosystem.

The fund was created to provide early stage growth capital to promising young life sciences tools companies, with a focus on businesses six to nine months from commercialization and an emphasis on cell and gene therapy. Alongside capital, portfolio companies gained access to a world-class ecosystem of investors, strategics, and mentors drawn from both firms' networks.

Fund leadership comprised Austin Duke, PhD, Managing Director at BroadOak, and Carl Schoellhammer, PhD, Principal at DeciBio.

"DeciBio's industry-leading strategic consulting combined with BroadOak's depth of experience and network makes BroadOak's BioTools Venture Fund a natural choice for early-stage companies in need of growth capital," said Austin Duke, Managing Director at BroadOak.

Investments made through the fund included CS Genetics, PAK BioSolutions, Indee Labs, Fluidic Sciences, and Nanite.
